100 Things
1. My name is Kimber. Some people call me Kim, mom, mommy, Aunt Kimber, hey you, Goddess, Pyro-Goddess and occassionally even Ms. Know-it-all.
2. I have a husband, Rob, who cooks, cleans and does laundry. No, I am not making that up.
3. I have a little girl named Alia--born in May of 2002.
4. I am raising my newphew, Chandler--born in May of 1995.
5. I am the Vice President of a small forensic engineering firm.
6. I have a small crush on Natalie Merchant.
7. I voted for Ralph Nadar time before last in the last presidental election.
8. I used to take traditional dance of India lessons.
9. I have a strong desire to adopt.
10. I used to smoke 1 1/2 packs of cigarettes a day. I have been smoke free for over 9 years now.
11. I often crave malted milk.
12. I like to read religious texts from any and all religions in my spare time.
13. I think Howard Dean would make a fine president.
14. I am a 35 year old woman living in the body of a 60 something woman. Or at least it feels that way in the morning.
15. I like to have my way. Always.
16. I am a slob. I cannot keep my house clean. Even when I try. I am bad at laundry, loading the dishwasher and just about every other domestic duty.
17. I wish I was more of a free spirit.
18. I am scared to death that some day Chandler will be too old to give me hugs.
19. I dig the rasta-Israeli look.
20. I lost my good friend and boss in August of 2004 and haven't quite figured out how to effectively deal with his absense yet.
21. I get car sick, sea sick and motion sick.
22. I had a natural childbirth and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
23. I believe it was wrong to initiate war against Iraq.
24. I am pretty much a loner bookworm.
25. I like Pee-Wee Herman's Big Adventure. It appeals to my kind of sense of humor. And he reminds me of Eddie.
26. I do not even remotely resemble the person I was in high school (thank god!)
27. The best thing about France is Cyril.
28. Sometimes I wish that I lived in the middle of nowhere, on many acres, with animals, a vegetable garden and lots of trees.
29. Sometime I wish that I lived in the middle of the city, in an old house with hardwood floors, with a bus stop close by and lots of unique restaurants within walking distance.
30. Sometimes I wish that I lived in Spain...in San Sebastian near the ocean.
31. Matt Blunt is a loser.
32. I miss my Grandma Yates something terrible ever since I had Alia.
33. I like to eat Ethiopian food. A lot. And Indian. And French. And Vietnamese.
34. Susan Talve is my hero.
35. I love to watch Alia sleep.
36. I am learning how to swim on my own.
37. I have absolutely no fashion sense. I am proud of that in a neurotic sort of way.
38. I obsessively check my email from home and work.
39. Burnt orange is a fabulous color. It reminds me of love.

41. I want to travel to India. I want to go to the temples, offer flowers/fruit and experience darshan.

45. I was wild as a teenager. I was running from my self. I didn't know that I could overcome my defects. I didn't know I could grow into a worthy person.
46. I appreciate my friends even though I rarely verbalize it.

48. I often find nerds sexy--like Lyle Lovett, computer nerds and literary geeks.
49. Don't feel too bad for Rob. He finds red heads sexy.
50. I mentor a little boy named Dylan on Friday nights and Saturday days.

54. Every time I leave a Judaism class, I think, "I can't wait to be a Jew!"
55. I like my cakes without icing.
56. When no one is home, I hear noises like someone is trying to break in. I become paralyzed with fear.
57. I am supersticious and because of that, can't watch scary movies anymore.
58. When I was a teenager, I ran away to Colorado for a while. I lived in downtown Denver and then in Elizabeth on a ranch.
59. I get restless when I live somewhere too long.
60. I am an NPR junkie.
61. I believe that one's religion is a very personal matter and rarely discuss it on such personal terms.
62. However, I love to discuss religion on nonpersonal terms!
63. I can be an extremely lazy person.
64. I can be a highly motivated person.
65. Chocolate Slim -n- Trim with extra egg protein is my favorite smoothie.
66. Ammachi is one of my role models in life.
67. No, I am not planning to have any more children.
68. What I love most about Rob is that he trusts my judgement and supports me in anything I undertake, no matter how looney it sounds to him initially.
69. I like a nice throat buzz from a strong cup of ginger tea.
70. I brought my daughter to work with me until she was 18 months old.

72. I kept my maiden name when Rob and I married. Just another reason for my in-laws to hate me.
73. I don't eat red meat nor pork. Chicken and mild white fish. That's it.
74. I have an Iranian pen pal. I love her dearly. I don't write her often enough. I feel guilty about that.
75. I hardly ever watch television except...that I watch American Idol religiously.
76. If I was independantly weathly, I would go to university for the rest of my life.
77. Nobody likes a cry baby. Me neither.
78. As a teen, a constant prayer request was to grow bigger boobs.
79. Either God didn't hear me, didn't care or doesn't exist.
80. I have 19 Charles Bukowski books from my university days. It pains me to learn he was an anti-semite.
81. I like to write bad poetry and even worse short stories.
82. I love stinky French cheese.
83. There is never enough time to play.
84. I have sometimes experience mild social phobia in new situations and I have a hard time making new friends.
85. My vocabulary sucks and I am embarassed by that.
86. I am a Capricorn by birth and personality.
87. I am deeply concerned about health care and mental health benefits in Missouri.

90. I like to watch ice skating and gymnastics.

97. I don't like to ride in the car with other people driving. It makes me paranoid and I often fantasize my death. It is much too stressful for me.
